FAQ's

What microneedling technique do you use?

At Lashes And Esthetics By Audra, we use the Rejuvapen NXT® device paired with the TruVertical™ microneedling protocol.

TruVertical™ means the needles enter and exit the skin in a precise, vertical motion, rather than dragging or tearing across the surface. This creates clean, controlled micro-channels in the skin, allowing for:

  1. More consistent collagen stimulation
  2. Less surface trauma and inflammation
  3. Faster healing and reduced downtime
  4. Improved comfort during treatment
  5. Safer outcomes across all skin tones

This advanced technique allows us to deliver powerful skin rejuvenation with a gentler, more refined experience and more predictable results.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses ultra-fine needles to create tiny micro-channels in the skin. This stimulates your body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer, healthier-looking skin.

What does microneedling treat?

Microneedling can improve:

  1. Fine lines and wrinkles
  2. Acne scarring and textural scars
  3. Uneven skin tone and pigmentation
  4. Enlarged pores
  5. Dull, tired skin
  6. Sun damage
  7. Stretch marks (in some cases)
  8. Overall skin firmness and glow
How does microneedling work?

The controlled micro-injuries trigger your skin’s repair process. This leads to new collagen formation and improved cell turnover, resulting in smoother, thicker, more resilient skin over time.

Is microneedling safe?

Yes — when performed by a trained professional using sterile equipment and proper protocols. It’s considered a very safe treatment with minimal downtime when aftercare is followed correctly.

When will I see results?

You’ll often notice a glow within a few days, but true collagen remodeling happens gradually over 4–12 weeks. Results continue improving over time and each treatment improves on the last.

How many treatments do I need?

Most people benefit from a series of 3–6 treatments spaced about 4–6 weeks apart for optimal results.

What is the downtime after microneedling?

Expect redness (like a sunburn) for 24–72 hours, mild swelling, and possible flaking or dryness as the skin heals.

Can I go back to work after?

Many clients return to normal activities the next day, though your skin may still be pink.

Can I wear makeup after microneedling?

Usually after 24 hours, depending on skin sensitivity and how you heal.

How should I prepare for microneedling?

Avoid retinol, exfoliants, sun exposure, and blood-thinning medications for several days prior

What should I avoid after microneedling?

For 24–72 hours avoid:

  1. Sun exposure
  2. Heavy sweating/exercise
  3. Makeup (for 24 hrs)
  4. Active skincare (retinol, acids, vitamin C initially)
